COMMISERATIONS
We were sad to hear of the recent death of Eric Francis who was a founder and Life Member of Cheam Village Warriors FC, after a long illness. Our sympathies go to the Club and to Eric's family.
CUP ELIGIBILITY
Please note in all Cup competitions there is a SEVEN day qualification rule in force in all rounds prior to the semi finals, this means that in the Junior League Competitions emergency registrations are NOT acceptable, please ensure that everyone that needs to know in your Club is advised. We not get any joy out of removing Clubs from the knockout competitions because of silly avoidable errors.
EMAILADDRESSES
Please ensure that if you rely on sending messages, details, letters or whatever by email, whoever it may be to, that you use the correct email address. Although some of these may seem strange unless otherwise notified those shown in the handbook are correct (a classic example is referee Andrew Flynn – the 3 n's in the email address are correct), we still have people sending emails to the Hon General and Hon Fixture Secretaries at their old email addresses one of which has not been in use for over two years and the other for over a year – So get your records correct and up to date.
FINES QUERIES
Although the Hon Treasurer collates and sends out lists of fines, he does not have any original documentation, so if you have a query with a specific fine this must be taken up with the Officer originating the fine as indicated on the list and NOT the Treasurer. If you cannot follow the correct procedure it is likely that the query will be ignored.
KICK OFF TIMES
Please note carefully that next Saturday 24th October is the last week for the "A" Kick Off times in the handbook, as British Summer Time ends next week end the Kick Off times from Saturday 31st October 2009 move to the "B" times in the handbook. For the large majority of Clubs there will be no change in KO time, but at least 2 Clubs will be kicking off earlier (1.00) due to local requirements. If any Club need to move the kick off time earlier please ensure the General Secretary is advised so that the information can be issued on a future bulletin. For those who will kick off at 2.00 all Cup games must kick off 30 minutes earlier to allow for possible extra time and penalties if required.
BEHAVIOUR
Within the last week three reports of disgraceful behaviour by Clubs personnel when playing away from home have been received, this is not only players but also includes members of the Club / Team Management and this is unacceptable. If the Club / Team Management cannot control themselves what hope is there of players being able to, if that is the example that is set to them!. Whilst the FA, may have amended the Rules to stop Leagues from getting rid of troublesome players by suspending registrations, these can easily be ignored because the alternative is that a Special General meeting will be called under the provisions of League Rule 17(B) at which the agenda will consist of a recommendation that the Club concerned is excluded from further participation in the League with immediate effect. The majority of players, referees and Officials wish to be able to enjoy their football on a Saturday afternoon without fear of being sworn at, abused – generally, racially or for disability and also being threatened. If you can't play the game and take defeat without resorting to behaving like a thug then you may face having your position in this Competition withdrawn from you if do not fancy such action being taken then either IMPROVE your behaviour or do everyone else a favour and go and join another competition – if they will have you!
TABLES
The tables include last weeks games and decisions Mondays Management Committee meeting.
